PEPSI-COLA | LA VENTANA | 1967
In 1967, Pepsi opened a window / PEPSI-COLA "LA VENTANA"
1967. At a time when the "Pepsi Generation" was sweeping the world, an ad called "the window" was born in Spain. The only thing that tells us this ad ever existed today is the fact that it won GOLD.
The idea
The title is "LA VENTANA" — Spanish for "window." In 1967, Pepsi was rolling out its "Pepsi Generation" campaign worldwide, tying the brand to youth culture. This ad may well have carried a metaphor along those lines too — opening something up, offering a new view. But we couldn't confirm the details.
What happened
It won GOLD. The agency was HIJOS FE VALERIANO PEREZ.
Afterthought
There's so little information that it's frustrating. But just the fact that a Pepsi ad made in Spain back in 1967 won GOLD is romantic enough on its own. If anyone out there knows more about this ad, please tell us.
