One Line Bad Bunny Sang Opened a Store / UVA APP "UVA UVA BOMBÓN"
The moment one line of lyrics played during the Super Bowl halftime show, the entire app flipped into a $1 sale. A store that only opens the instant a song plays — can you really pull that off?
The problem
UVA is a delivery app from Puerto Rico. By coincidence, the lyrics to Bad Bunny's song "Tití Me Preguntó" contain the phrase "Uva Uva Bombón," which matches the brand's own name. Knowing the song would open the Super Bowl halftime show, the agency prepared a plan in advance to take advantage of it.
The insight
How does a brand with strong local roots get onto the world's biggest stage, the Super Bowl, when that stage has nothing to do with local culture? The answer wasn't buying ad space — it was spotting a coincidental connection already sitting inside the culture and making it their own. The key idea was turning a simple observation — that their own name appears in the lyrics — into a real-time purchase trigger.
The idea
Before the show, the agency teased that "if Bad Bunny sings this song on stage, an unprecedented promotion will launch." The moment Bad Bunny sang "Uva Uva Bombón" during the performance, a selection of products was unlocked for $1 inside the UVA app in real time. It was a completely live promotion, available only during the broadcast or until stock ran out.
What happened
The featured products reportedly sold out before the performance even ended. At Cannes Lions 2026, the campaign won the Grand Prix in the Direct category, along with three Silver and one Bronze Lion. It became a historic night for Puerto Rico's advertising industry.
Afterthought
They didn't run a single spot ad — they fought this battle with nothing but a trigger: open the store when the lyrics play. Not advertising, but slipping into culture itself. The courage and speed it takes to pull that off is something else.
