MERCADO LIVRE | FIELD BARCODE | 2026
Just mowing a soccer field's grass became an ad. The sheer power of the idea—that you could scan it right through the TV broadcast and go shopping—is wild.
CLUB DEPORTIVO MUNICIPAL | THE THOUSAND SPONSORS OF MUNI | 2026
Put 1,000 companies' logos on a jersey. It sounds like a joke, but it actually saved a club.
NIKE | I AM PLAYR | 2012
There's a game where you live a footballer's life in the first person. Nike was woven into that story as if it were simply part of life — and over 400,000 pairs of boots got sold inside the game. It never feels like advertising, but that's exactly what it is.
Heineken | Star Player | 2011
72% of Champions League fans watch at home, alone. Heineken and AKQA turned that loneliness into competition. Watching TV while predicting the next play on your phone — "Star Player" was the world's first live dual-screen football game.
HEINEKEN | AUDITORIUM | 2010
On October 21, 2009, 1,000 football fans gathered at an auditorium in Milan, with no idea they were walking straight into a trap.

Honestly, the idea of doing it in first-person view is something you might think of on your own. But the scale here is different, and so is the money behind it. The sheer luxury of lining up Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Wayne Rooney, Cesc Fàbregas, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and even manager Arsène Wenger. Of course it was directed by Guy Ritchie. Just picturing it is fun.
NIKE | STICKMAN | 2003
In 2003, a black stick figure stepped onto the pitch alongside Ronaldinho and started kicking a ball around. But it didn't stop there. It swallowed the ball whole, ripped off its own leg, and used it to take a shot. One wildly illegal-feeling move.
FRANCE TELECOM | CUSTOMS | 1999
An ad made by France Telecom ahead of the 1998 World Cup. Set at a border customs checkpoint, it follows officers smuggling a soccer ball, with a "Goal!" ringing out over the phone. Football gets people talking.
