DEUTSCHE AIDS-STIFTUNG | EVERY 18 SECONDS SOMEBODY DIES OF AIDS. | 2012
Every 18 Seconds, a Life / Deutsche AIDS-Stiftung "EVERY 18 SECONDS"
Eighteen seconds. That's how often someone, somewhere in the world, dies of AIDS. As a number, it's almost too short. And almost too heavy to bear.
The idea
The title says it all: "EVERY 18 SECONDS SOMEBODY DIES OF AIDS." Every 18 seconds, someone dies of AIDS. There's real power in stating that fact exactly as it is.
What happened
This work won a Gold Lion at the 2012 Cannes Lions. It was entered across the Design, Promo & Activation, and Film categories.
Afterthought
The reality that Germany's AIDS foundation was trying to convey in 2012 is still happening somewhere in the world today. What we can do is not forget, keep learning, and take in the full weight of those 18 seconds.
