KRUNGSRI FIRST CHOICE | WHAT THE FAST! | 2024
What if 15 seconds could solve life's toughest conversations? / KRUNGSRI FIRST CHOICE "WHAT THE FAST!"
Making up with a partner. Talking your dad into something. Apologizing to your boss. The most awkward conversations in life, wrapped up in the split second two motorbikes pass each other. Three 15-second films built on that idea won a Gold Lion at Cannes Lions.
The problem
Thailand's credit card market is fiercely competitive, and Krungsri First Choice has built its brand around one weapon: fast approval. The client asked its agency to show off this selling point in the most unexpected way possible.
The insight
Making up with your partner, getting your dad's permission, apologizing to your boss—these are normally long, awkward ordeals. The whole idea rests on a single what-if: what if they were as fast as Krungsri First Choice's approval process?
The idea
Each of the three 15-second films shows a different scene: making up with a partner, getting permission from your dad for a trip, apologizing to your boss. The characters exchange just a line or two while passing each other on motorbikes, and somehow it all lands on "OK." The whole long, messy conversation is skipped entirely—you only see the conclusion, and the boldness of that cut is the whole joke. The director was Wuthisak Anarnkaporn of FACTORY01.
What happened
The campaign launched in Thailand in June 2024 and won Gold at Cannes Lions Film Lions. Within a month of release it racked up 10 million views, and mobile credit card and loan applications rose 79% compared to the previous year.
Afterthought
Of course 15 seconds can't actually solve life's toughest problems. But the feeling of "fast" comes through loud and clear anyway. As Deputy ECD Thiti Boonkerd put it, "great creativity doesn't come from creative people alone"—this idea only worked because the client had the guts to run with it. Watching the two people laugh as they pass each other on their bikes, I couldn't help but grin too.
