At the big turning points in life, a crowd of different selves inside you pop up and start arguing with each other. This SUUMO piece makes those inner voices visible.
The insight
Moving house or choosing where to live is one of life's big decisions. In that moment, your "anxious self," your "excited self," and your "cautious self" all show up at once and start holding a meeting in your head. This piece makes you think that maybe life is really about walking forward while making peace with all these different versions of yourself.
The idea
The three alter-egos who appear on screen are apparently all played by the same actor who plays the main character, with the three performances layered together using chroma key compositing. It's a subtle touch, but as a piece of acting, it's actually a pretty extravagant trick.
What happened
There's also a story that before the main feature in theaters, a longer version was shown than the one that aired on TV.
Afterthought
It's not such a new angle, but it feels like nothing I've seen before. Really, really good work. Makes me wonder who the planner behind it was.
